Course Description
The lecture seeks to describe different types of cracked teeth and treatments.
Attendees Will Learn
- Understand the differences between vertical root fractures, oblique fractures, split teeth, crown root fractures and their treatment options.
- Understand the uses and limitations of diagnostic tests.
- Appreciate the importance of CBCT studies and their inherent limitations
- How to discuss risks, benefits, and prognosis with their patients.
About the Speaker
Dr. Joslyn Jenkins was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She earned her dental degree in 1997 from the University of Florida. Dr. Jenkins then completed her specialty training at University of Texas in 1999. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Jenkins practiced in Sarasota, Florida from 1999 to 2008. She has practiced in the Midland/Odessa area since 2008. Endodontist
Dr. Shawn Gilbert grew up in Midland, Texas. He earned his dental degree at Baylor College of Dentistry in 1997. Following dental school, he completed a one year general practice residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. Dr. Gilbert completed his specialty training at the University of Texas San Antonio in 2000. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Gilbert has been in full time private practice in Midland/Odessa for 20 years. Both Drs. Gilbert and Jenkins are members of the ADA, TDA , AAE, and Local Dental Associations. They have both held leadership positions in organized dentistry, and have lectured for local study clubs, the AEGD, Seattle Study Club, Spear Study Club and British Dental Society.

The West Texas Academy of General Dentistry (WTAGD) Teeth and Greets serve to provide continuing education to general dentists regarding topics of interest while staying up-to-date with new dental technologies, remaining dedicated to life-long learning, discussing key issues affecting our profession, and networking with fellow dentists.
