About the Series
The events of the Covid-19 Pandemic have given us a dramatic look at our future. Most major business and leadership experts all agree that the age of VUCA (Volatility- Uncertainty-Complexity-Ambiguity) is upon us, and that the only way to thrive will fall to those willing to lead. Historically it has always been true that in times of societal change, leadership has been key to meeting the challenges. Self - awareness, resilience, and conversational agility are hallmarks of being a more Conscious Leader and will all be vital to your success and fulfillment moving forward. This 3-day workshop will equip practice dentist owners, associate dentists, and team members with the skills needed to address VUCA & create a thriving dental practice that will weather future storms that will inevitably arise.
Workshop 1: Lead Yourself | July 23rd
“Self-leadership is the practice of intentionally influencing your thinking, feeling and actions towards your objective/s”
In this first workshop, we will explore leadership from the inside-out. We will utilize self-assessments, small group interaction, and lectures. Before the live-in person workshop begins, we will connect with the attendees by sending them several resources to help on their leadership journey. There will be suggested reading materials (both a book and several articles) as well as a webinar recording to prime the pump for what we will be covering in the first workshop.

Workshop 2: Co-Discovery | August 20th
“How to transform fear into trust and harness the power of co-discovery"
In this second workshop, we will shift from self-leadership to leading others, specifically how Conscious Leadership is involved in leading your patients. The work of Dr. Bob Barkley (the pioneer of the co-discover process) will be central to the teaching in this workshop. What guys like Barkley, Avrom King, and LD Pankey taught and knew experientially is now becoming hard science, so we will take a deep dive into the neuroscience of both connection and building trust. This section will also cover the four domains of Emotional Intelligence and how to utilize them with patients. Attendees leaving this workshop will undoubtably experience improved social interactions and see an improvement in treatment acceptance and more fluidity in financial conversations. There will again be suggested reading, a pre-workshop primer video recording, as well as group work/coaching between workshops to expand and cement learning.

Workshop 3: Team First Culture | October 8th
“Create a sustainable team culture that supports you and makes practicing dentistry fun again”
This final workshop will bring together concepts from the first two weekends and tie them into leading your team. How you lead your team and how your team leads each other will be improved using the concepts of Conscious Leadership. A fully aligned and congruent team will allow you to perform while having a lot of fun. We will also dive into creating an organizational culture with intention, and as we all know “Culture eats strategy for breakfast.”
