Is it your goal to walk the stage in 2022 with your Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD)?
Good news! Texas AGD will be providing the FAGD written exam on Saturday, September 18, 2021 in Austin, TX. This exam will be held in conjunction with the Lone Star Dental Conference. As a bonus, we are offering a Friday rate for exam registrants who also want to attend the Conference. Details will be included in confirmation email after you have registered for the exam.
To reserve and register to take the Fellowship Exam please follow these steps:
Step 1: Reserve your seat (fill out the registration link on this page).
Step 2: Receive confirmation of your reservation with links to an application that needs to be filled out and submitted to AGD.
Step 3: Register and Pay for the exam, $600 (payment made to AGD via PayPal) within 24 hours of reserving your seat.
Completed applications and payments are to be sent directly to AGD National by email to Education@agd.org.
Other Exam Information:
What should I expect the exam to be like? The exam consists of approximately 250 multiple-choice questions, be in a paper-and-pencil format, and includes material from all dental disciplines and emphasizes the clinical application of accepted dental knowledge, techniques, and procedures. The exam is 4 hours long and will start promptly at 9:00 AM. There are no breaks given during the exam. Examinees can take a break to use the restroom; however they will not be given make up time for the time they missed.
Who can take the Fellowship exam? Active AGD members who have attained a dental license that has not been suspended or revoked within the past five years and is not currently under probation, suspension or revocation.
What is the cost of the exam? It costs $600 to take the Fellowship exam. You must reserve your space with us first by clicking on the link below. Once you have reserved your space, we will send a confirmation email with instructions to complete the application and pay.

Promote the daily practice of everyday preventive actions. All attendees should practice daily good health habits to prevent the spread of any virus. Please review the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations for everyday preventive actions.
Individuals who are sick are discouraged from attending in-person events or to leave events if they begin to experience symptoms. If you have symptoms of a virus, which could include fever, cough, and shortness of breath, you are discouraged from attending the event and encouraged to follow CDC guidelines. If you become sick at the event, please promptly follow CDC guidelines, and notify event organizer by email or phone. In addition, if you believe you have been in close contact with someone who has been exposed to the COVID-19 virus, you are also discouraged from attending any in-person meetings and it is recommended you follow CDC guidance on what to do when sick. - The exam fee is refundable minus a $50 processing fee if the exam is canceled.
- Exam fees will be held for a maximum of 24 months.
- Exam fees are non-refundable after the 24-month period.
- Exam fees are non-refundable when membership lapses.
- No refunds will be given to members who fail to take the exam or do not pass the exam.
- No discount will be given to members who come within five points of the passing score.
