Course Description
The field of Periodontal and Peri-implant Plastic Surgery has undergone a paradigm shift over recent decades. Clinical innovations have paved the way for minimally invasive surgical approaches in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry, aiming to maintain or improve pre-existing periodontal and peri-implant conditions while minimizing the number of surgical interventions and postoperative morbidity. This course provides a comprehensive diagnostic framework for the assessment of periodontal and peri-implant soft- and hard-tissue deficiencies and explores the evolution of surgical approaches through clinical case discussions.
Course Objectives
-
Identify periodontal and peri-implant soft- and hard-tissue deficiencies, including gingival/ mucosal recession, mucogingival defects, and bone defects
-
Determine appropriate timing and evidence-based indications for intervention in maintaining or improving periodontal and peri-implant tissue condition
-
Evaluate the clinical application of minimally invasive periodontal and peri-implant plastic approaches in routine dental practice and their short- and long-term patient-centered outcomes
