In Texas, becoming a dental assistant is as simple as applying for a job at a dental office and gaining skills on-the-job. However, X-rays can only be done by those who have obtained their Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certificate - this is a valuable way to advance in your career in dentistry!
4 Steps to Get a Registered Dental Assistant Certificate
Learn About the Certificate Requirements
The Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE) requires you to have a GED or High School Diploma, complete an in-person CPR class, and pass an approved RDA course to become an RDA - and this is where Texas AGD comes in. We are an approved CE provider with the TSBDE, and we can help you get started on your journey to becoming an RDA.
Register and Complete our online RDA course
When you register for our online RDA course, you will have 45 days to complete it. There are 3 different sections: Radiology (X-rays), Infection Control, and Jurisprudence (legal considerations). There is a final assessment at the end, so it's a good idea to take notes and study before the final assessment. If you don't pass the assessment on the first try, you can take the assessment one additional time for no charge. Click here to register now.
COST : $179

Click here to learn more. The RDA CE Renewal Program is designed with your biennial CE requirements in mind, and will satisfy six hours of your required CE. Keep in mind that six hours of CE must be taken in-person or via a live webinar, which our program does not provide. Click here to review the steps to renew your certification.
