Create and expand your school’s CTE career pathways for students with Texas AGD’s RDA Online Course portals.
In Texas, dental practices can hire individuals and provide on-the-job training for them to become dental assistants. By becoming a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), individuals can perform tasks like taking dental X-rays, which is essential in a dental practice. An RDA can establish credibility within the profession and increase the opportunity for career advancement or getting hired.

  • 100% online: With no required instructor or classroom materials, this program can be seamlessly integrated into your Health Science curriculum or offered independently as a stand-alone certification course.
  • Student Portal: Each individual access to the course provides 6 hours of education (Radiology, Infection Control, Jurisprudence) plus the final exam (2 attempts).

HOW DOES the purchase process WORK?
The Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE) requires individuals to have a high school diploma or GED, complete an in-person BLS/CPR class, pass an approved RDA course, and complete a human trafficking prevention course to become a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) - and this is where Texas AGD comes in.

We are an approved CE provider with the TSBDE and can help students get started on their journey to becoming an RDA. Students who meet these requirements are eligible to apply for their RDA certificate through the TSBDE within one year of completing the Texas Academy of General Dentistry's RDA course and can begin a rewarding career with on-the-job training.
