Texas AGD is an approved Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE) CE provider. Choose Bundle #1 or #2 to meet 6 hours of the biennial renewal requirements, or choose Bundle #3, at a discounted rate, to meet all 12 hours of the biennial renewal requirements.

*Beginning May 28th, 2026, the TSBDE no longer requires dental assistants to complete 6 in-person/live CE hours for biennial license renewal. All 12 required CE hours can now be completed online!

We are an approved Continuing Education (CE) provider recognized by the TSBDE. To renew your certificate, the TSBDE requires completion of 12 CE hours every two years with an approved provider. 3 Steps to Renewing Your Registered Dental Assistant Certificate

Learn about TSBDE certificate renewal requirements.

The TSBDE requires all RDAs to complete 12 CE hours biennially with an approved CE provider. Choose Bundle #1 or Bundle #2 to meet 6 CE hours of the renewal requirements, or choose Bundle #3, at a discounted rate, to meet all 12 hours of renewal requirements. The TSBDE also requires one CE hour of human trafficking prevention (included in Bundle #2 and Bundle #3) and a valid CPR certification:

  • Enroll in Human Trafficking Course: Identifying & Responding to Victims of Human Trafficking for General Dentistry (Included in Bundle #2 and Bundle #3)
    • Effective September 1, 2020, all dental health care personnel, including dentists, hygienists, and RDA's will be required to complete human trafficking prevention training to renew their state license or certification. Through Unbound, this meets the TSBDE renewal requirements for human trafficking and is approved by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). This course provides a variety of resources to inform and support intervention in a human trafficking situation.
  • Verify your CPR certification is valid.
    • If not, register and take a CPR class. This must be completed prior to turning in your application in Step 3. This CPR class must be an in-person class; you cannot take an online CPR class. Find a CPR class and its cost here.
